Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 10, and it has us thinking about the women who shape us, raise us, encourage us, and leave little pieces of themselves in the way we move through the world. In the United States, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May as a day to honor mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, and motherly figures.

At Hauser’s, jewelry has always been about more than sparkle. It is about memory. It is about the people we love. It is about finding something that feels like them, or finding something that helps us carry them close.
This week, we asked a few people at Hauser’s to share a memory of their mother, and the stories reminded us that sometimes the smallest details are the ones we remember most.
A Mother’s Voice
Amy shared a reflection about her own mother that feels especially fitting for Mother’s Day.
“Over the years, people would often tell me I sounded like my mother when I spoke. I always took it as a compliment, but I didn’t really begin to notice it myself until I got older. I think when you’re young, it’s natural to separate from your parents as you create independence and grow into your own person. It’s an important part of growing up. Funny how the things we grow away from often become the very things we cherish most. Thank you, Mom, for giving me your voice.”
It is funny how that happens. The sayings, the gestures, the tone, the advice, the way we love people. So much of what we carry from our mothers becomes clearer with time.
Missy’s Memory of Her Mother
Missy shared a story that made us smile.
When her stepfather was stationed in Vietnam, Missy and her mother stayed in Hawaii. One day, her mother was meeting a friend at a nice bar. Her mother had blonde hair and a bob, and while she was there, a man who was home in Hawaii for R&R thought she was Doris Day.
Missy remembered the story with so much warmth because she loved Doris Day. Day was one of Hollywood’s beloved actresses and singers, remembered for her bright, classic “girl next door” image.
“She was feisty and beautiful, and so was my mother,” Missy said.
Her mother had also been a model when she was younger and worked with the respected Harry Conover agency. Conover was a well-known modeling agency founder whose agency became part of American fashion history in the 1940s and 1950s.
Missy remembered watching a movie with Audrey Hepburn where someone mentioned Conover and “all the best ones.” That line stayed with her because her mother had worked for him.
It is such a beautiful kind of memory. A mother in Hawaii. Blonde hair and a bob. A stranger thinking she looked like Doris Day. A daughter remembering not just what her mother did, but who she was.
Feisty. Beautiful. Unforgettable.
What Do You Get Mom for Mother’s Day?

We cherish our moms, so naturally, we want to treat them. But the best gifts are not always the biggest gifts. Sometimes they are the ones that feel personal.
Here are a few sweet ideas for Mother’s Day:
Flowers
Flowers are a classic for a reason. They bring beauty into the home and feel like a small celebration all on their own. Choose her favorite flower, her favorite color, or something that reminds you of her.
Pearl Jewelry

Pearls are timeless, elegant, and deeply meaningful. They are soft, classic, and easy to wear, making them a beautiful gift for a mother, grandmother, or mother figure. Whether it is a pair of pearl earrings, a simple strand, or a modern pearl pendant, pearl jewelry has a way of feeling both sentimental and fresh.
Something Handmade
If you have a card, paper, markers, paint, or even a few quiet minutes, there is freedom to create something meaningful. A handwritten note, a painted card, or a small homemade gift can become something she keeps for years.
A Homemade Brunch
Sometimes the sweetest gift is time. Plan a brunch for her, make her favorite coffee, set the table, and let her sit down while you take care of the rest. It does not have to be perfect. It just has to feel thoughtful.
A Bracelet Wrapped With Love
At Hauser’s, we put together a limited Mother’s Day bracelet package featuring sterling silver bracelets from Bali with 18k gold accents. Each one is boxed with a hand-stamped card that says “Mom” in different languages.
Only 6 boxes are available, with 2 bracelets of each style, including amethyst and labradorite designs. If you don't have a gift ready, these are meaningful gifts for the mom, grandmother, mother figure, or someone who has loved you like one.
For the Women Who Shape Us
Mother’s Day is a sweet time to pause and remember the women who gave us their voice, their strength, their humor, their beauty, their recipes, their stories, and their love.
Whether you celebrate with jewelry, flowers, brunch, a handmade card, or simply a phone call, we hope this weekend gives you a moment to honor the women who have made life more beautiful.
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Hauser’s.
