Born in Vicenza, Italy, Roberto Coin was a successful hotel manager from the “City of Gold”. While Roberto’s career was certainly prosperous, he had other aspirations for his life. In 1996, Roberto left his job in hospitality and founded the now iconic jewelry brand named after the designer himself. Driven by his “innate love for the world of art and fashion”, Roberto sought passion and adventure in the pursuit of his dreams.
By medium of the most skilled Italian jewelry craftsmen, Roberto channeled his creativity into jewelry that becomes art.
His design inspiration comes from the world of nature as well as the past. His vision is influenced by the “City of Gold” and the place of his birth – Vicenza, Italy. Each of Coin’s pieces are “signed” with a small ruby cast inside the jewel, a ruby that is always in contact with the skin of the wearer. These rubies represent the message of Roberto’s good wishes.
Today, Roberto’s designs are scattered all over the world. His pieces are found in over 60 countries and more than 1000 shops. Worn by many celebrities, they are frequently spotted on the red carpet. Oprah was adorned with Roberto’s jewels on her recent “Wrinkle in Time” press tour.
In the words of Roberto Coin himself, “Fashion is changeable. It is whimsical. Style is not. Style is part of us, of our life in every moment and every expression.”
